SLJ Poster FREE GIVEAWAY!

Hi folks!

My poster for the School Library Journal and Children’s Book Council was released a few days back, which was during my trip to Boston, MA for MICE.

I was approached by the lovely Mark Tuchman, creative director for SLJ, to make a poster with LGBTQIA+ as the topic. It was an extremely great experience, and truly humbling to have my work in libraries across the nation.

Here’s some process!

I gave Mark four different options to begin with, a few of them being more illustrative and a bit more trans focused, because of our current climate with book censorship. They chose the more diverse option, which I labeled as “corporate safe” basically. Which I totally understand why they went with it! Maybe I’ll end up making the other posters.

I gave some color options and suggestions at this point. I tried to go for things that I enjoyed but also thought of what maybe people want to see? I was scared at this stage, but I figured something out! Somehow!

This is the final image!

The Every Child a Reader gave me two posters to give away! They came folded upon arrival, so unfortunately they are not in a condition to be hung as mint artwork! However, I will sign them!

This is a First Come First serve situation! Leave a comment below and I’ll email you asking for an address to ship to you.

If you would rather print it out yourself, below is a link to the high resolution download!
